FAQ's About Recreational Soccer (back to top)

Are children required to tryout to be placed on a team?

There are no tryouts for recreational soccer. The recreational program has a great philosophy; "Everyone plays."  Consequently, any young person who wants to play soccer can join a SSC recreational team.

How is it determined which age bracket my child will play under?

The SSC will create as many recreational teams as are needed, depending on the number of registered recreational players.  Each player assigned to a team based on age and gender, with the age levels divided into seven groups, U6, U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U19.  Age brackets are based on birthdates that fall between August 1st through July 31st of each year.

How often does recreational soccer practice?

Generally practice is 2x's per week per the coaches discretion.
